Job Description :

Join our team at a reputable organization as a Psychologist in the Work Life Services department. You will have the opportunity to assess employees who claim psychological distress and inability to function in their jobs after incidents at work. Your expertise will contribute to determining employees' capabilities for performing restricted duties or full duties of their job positions. This role involves writing consultation reports that will be used by the client's Assessment Centers and Worker's Compensation Unit.


 


Job Summary: 


 


As a Psychologist in the Work Life Services department, you will conduct assessments of employees and provide consultation reports regarding their ability to perform job duties after work-related incidents. You will interview employees, review medical documentation and job duty descriptions, and make recommendations based on your assessment. It is important to note that this position involves evaluation-related services only, and no treatment will be provided.


 


Responsibilities:



  • Conduct assessments of employees at Work Life Services facilities who claim psychological distress and inability to function in their jobs after work-related incidents.

  • Interview employees and review submitted medical documentation, job duty descriptions, and available restricted work descriptions.

  • Write consultation reports that include recommendations on employees' capability to perform restricted duties or full duties of their job positions.

  • Collaborate with physicians in the clients' Assessment Centers to aid in determining possible work restrictions.

  • Provide reports for review by the Worker's Compensation Unit of the client's law department and potentially by their contracted independent medical examiners.

Required Qualifications :

  • Certification or licensure as a forensic psychologist in good standing.

  • Current licensure by the NYS Education Department.

  • Minimum of two (2) years of clinical experience, or a satisfactory equivalent (subject to Authority approval).

  • Additional qualifications preferred (not mandatory):

    • Ph.D. in psychology with specialization in forensic psychology, supported by postdoctoral training and specific experience qualifying for forensic board certification.

    • Board certification by the American Board of Professional Psychology and experience in occupational/Worker's Compensation.
