Job Description
Our client, a “NYS agency focused on assisting students with their financial needs”, is looking for a Licensed Practical Nurse for their Summer Academy.

Responsibilities

• Maintain confidential medical records of student participants and chaperones.
• Respond to medical emergencies.
• Check-in camper and staff medication upon arrival.
• Set up medical room and conduct inventory of supplies.
• Establish and follow appropriate medical routines*.
• Post hours for daily medications and health call.
• Complete accident/incident reports when needed.
• On camp trips, the nurse would be responsible for administering first aid if needed.
• Follow procedures as outlined in the Camp Safety Plan.
• Be familiar and strive to follow any applicable federal, state, local regulations, association health and safety policy/procedure/requirement and standards.
• Be aware of, and adhere to, established NYGEAR UP policies and procedures.

*Medical Routines include record keeping in the daily medical log, disposal of medical waste, managing and safeguarding medications, and ensuring medications are delivered as per NYS Guidance.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT:
• Attend virtual camp orientation and ensure staff is aware of camp health/safety policies and procedures.

• Nurse will be expected to stay on-site for the duration of the camp and will be provided a private room with private bathroom.
• Meals Included.

Required Qualifications

• Licensed in New York State (LPN)
• First Aid Certified
• CPR Certified
• AED Certified
