We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurses (RN) to join our multidisciplinary team in providing comprehensive care to clients in a mental health setting. Under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse Supervisor, you will play a vital role in ensuring that clients receive the necessary care in accordance with nursing care plans, established protocols, and regulatory standards.
Job Description:
As an RN in our mental health facility, you will be responsible for providing direct nursing care to clients, including conducting comprehensive admission assessments, administering medications, providing physician-ordered medical treatments, and collecting specimens for laboratory analysis. You will also play a key role in health education, monitoring client behavior, conducting assessments to identify client needs and potential obstacles to success, and handling crisis intervention as needed. Accurate documentation and maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment are also crucial aspects of this role.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct nursing care to clients in a mental health setting.
- Conduct comprehensive admission assessments, including physical and mental health evaluations.
- Dispense medications and ensure proper administration.
- Provide physician-ordered medical treatments and interventions.
- Collect specimens for laboratory analysis or culture as necessary.
- Deliver health education to clients and assist in developing self-management skills.
- Monitor client behavior, identifying any changes or concerns.
- Conduct assessments to identify client needs, available services, and potential barriers to success.
- Handle crisis intervention, addressing psychological, physiological, and behavioral emergencies.
- Maintain accurate and detailed electronic or physical records of client care.
- Create a safe and therapeutic environment for clients, promoting their well-being and recovery.
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Prior experience in a mental health or psychiatric setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of mental health assessment and intervention techniques.
- Strong clinical skills and ability to provide comprehensive nursing care.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to handle crisis situations with composure and empathy.
- Proficient in maintaining accurate and detailed documentation.
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems is a plus.
- Knowledge of licensing standards and regulations in the state of practice.
- Ability to work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team
